                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM
                   ADMINISTRATOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
                   WORKS AND THE CITY FINANCE OFFICER TO
                   EXECUTE AND ATTEST, RESPECTIVELY, AMENDMENT
                   NO. 1 TO THE AGREEMENT WITH HENSLEY-SCHMIDT,
                   INC., RELATIVE TO PROVIDING ADDITIONAL
                   CONSTRUCTION PHASE SERVICES TO CONTRACT NO.
                   37D1, LOWER AMNICOLA PARALLEL INTERCEPTOR,
                   IN THE AMOUNT OF TWELVE THOUSAND NINETY AND
                   NO/100 DOLLARS ($12,090.00), AND DECREASING
                   THE COST OF RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATION
                   ON CONTRACT NO. 37D1 IN THE AMOUNT OF
                   SIXTEEN THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS
                   ($16,000.00), WITH NO ADDITIONAL COST FOR

       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Interim Administrator of the
       Department of Public Works and the City Finance Officer be and 
are
       hereby authorized to execute and attest, respectively, Amendment
       No. 1 to the Agreement with Hensley-Schmidt, Inc., Engineers, for 

       providing additional construction phase services to Contract No.
       37D1, Lower Amnicola Parallel Interceptor, in the amount of
       $12,090.00, and decreasing the cost of resident project
       representation on Contract No. 37D1 in the amount of $16,000.00,
       with no additional cost for field surveys, with the original 
total
       for engineering services remaining at a not to exceed amount of
       $73,100.00, without prior approval.
